Patrick Mahomes can't do nothing and the Chiefs lose their undefeated record
The Chiefs’ perfect season is over. Patrick Mahomes struggled, Travis Kelce made history, but Seattle delivered a shocking upset.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba dominated with nine catches for 150 yards and a touchdown, while the Seattle Seahawks handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season with a convincing 20-3 victory on Sunday night.
Sam Darnold threw for 257 yards and a touchdown as the Seahawks (4-3) snapped a two-game losing streak . Emanuel Wilson also played a key role, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.
On the other side, Patrick Mahomes struggled throughout the night, finishing with 165 passing yards and an interception as the Chiefs (5-1) failed to generate any consistent offense.
Kenneth Walker III , who was the Seahawks’ Super Bowl MVP last season before signing with Kansas City in the offseason, was shut down by his former team. The running back managed just 36 yards on 14 carries.
Walker entered the game leading the NFL with an average of 133 rushing yards per game , but Seattle’s defense completely neutralized him and the rest of the Chiefs’ offense. Kansas City finished with only 213 total yards , including just 50 rushing yards .
The Seahawks extended their streak of not allowing a 100-yard rusher to 36 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL.
The lone highlight for Kansas City came from Travis Kelce , who reached another historic milestone. The star tight end caught four passes to reach 1,104 career receptions , passing Marvin Harrison and Cris Carter for fifth place on the NFL’s all-time receptions list.
Seattle opened the scoring early in the second quarter after a 33-yard connection between Darnold and Smith-Njigba moved the Seahawks into the red zone. Jason Myers then converted a 25-yard field goal to give Seattle a 3-0 lead.
On Kansas City’s next possession, Ty Okada intercepted Mahomes on a pass intended for Jalen Royals . The Seahawks capitalized on the mistake, and after a seven-yard scramble by Darnold, the quarterback connected with Smith-Njigba for a 28-yard touchdown to extend Seattle’s lead to 10-0 with 1:44 left in the first half.
The Seahawks threatened to add more points before halftime after another 28-yard completion from Darnold to Smith-Njigba, but Darnold threw an interception in the end zone. Nohl Williams returned the pick 64 yards, though Harrison Butker missed a 58-yard field goal attempt as time expired.
Myers added another field goal from 35 yards to make it 13-0. Later in the third quarter, Kansas City drove to Seattle’s 30-yard line, but Mahomes fumbled on third down, forcing the Chiefs to settle for a 50-yard field goal from Butker.
Mahomes connected with Kelce for a 19-yard gain early in the fourth quarter, but Kansas City came away empty-handed when Butker missed a 45-yard field goal wide right. The kicker has now missed 10 field goals since the start of last season.
Seattle put the game away with Wilson’s 21-yard touchdown run with 3:47 remaining, completing a dominant performance that ended Kansas City’s perfect start to the season.
